What is Verre églomisé?

Verre Eglomise is the french term for the traditional technique of the reverse glass gilding producing a shiny mirror finish.

What kind of gold do you use?

All our products are locally hand gilded in our Harlem studio, using only finest quality 23 Karat Gold Leaf from Italy. Our Leaf is produced/beaten by one of the oldest and largest manufacturers of Gold Leaf products based in Florence: a 7th generation family business, the Giusto Mannetti Battiloro Company which was founded in 1600.

Will the piece I have ordered look exactly as the one pictured?

Each gilded artwork is made to order and unique and will have individual characteristics. As is the nature of gold leaf, slight imperfections will be present, but we believe these add to the beauty and story of each piece. The examples pictured on the website may differ in color slightly according to your screen, but 23 Karat Gold Leaf will always look true and in fact more brilliant in person.
